The curriculum is being reformed in China at present. Some common phenomena prevent the reform from developing successfully. For example, teachers and students have to attend classes during their holidays or vacations and spend much more time dealing with too many exercises in class and out of class. In spite of this, students'ability is not improved accordingly. After effective teaching rooted in the West in the early twentieth century was put forward as a concept of teaching, it was attached importance to in the field of education soon.Many experts both at home and abroad have been making theory research in effective teaching, Three ways in the following are paid attention to about effective teaching: teaching efficiency and teacher effectiveness, ingathering and progress made by students, mensurability. However, if the former reseaches on the effective teaching can be seen from the angle of the notions of modern teaching, the present writer still found the following disadvantages: (1) There are comparatively fewer reseach achievements of effective teaching in guiding biology teaching in senior middle schools, especially the study of the validity of how to enhance teaching design and aggrandizement trainging can more rarely be seen.(2) Effective teaching lay particular stress on students, ignoring the development of teachers themselves.The purpose of the thesis is to make teachers equipped with the ideas of effective teaching, master the strategy of effective teaching, improve the efficiency between teaching and learning thus accelerating the full development of the students as well as the development of the teachers themselves.In this thesis, the study was conducted mainly by adopting Behavior Approach. By investigating a variety of teaching cases of the subject of biology and the behavior of teachers who teach other sujects, the present writer conclude the characteristics of efficient teaching behavior and at the same time put forward the effective strategies of improving biology teaching combining the theory of effective teaching and the charateristics of the subject of biology.The article summarizes the tactics of effective teaching design. (1)Before designing the teaching plan, we should study the teaching materials, teaching program and College Entrance Examination Program, so that we can grasp the main knowledge and the main concept. We should dig out the relationship between the text contents and the realistic life, study the features of College Entrance Examination, and know about the students'interest and the ability in learning as well. (2)When designing questions, we should create questions according to situations. Questions should be designed based on main knowledge, and different questions should be designed from different angles depending on different knowledge. At the same time , we should think about how to improve the tactics of the questioning effects. (3) We should always rethink our success and failure , summarize the wisdom in teaching and record the students'break-through..The article also summarizes the tactics of improving the training effect. (1)We should take the exercises in Workbook seriously when selecting exercises which are mainly from College Entrance Examination and the models of College Entrance Examination around the country. We should make good use of the contents in textbooks to make up exercises and have the exercises in storage. (2) The training time should be limited within 20—30 minutes each time and the short intervals should be more effective. (3) When trained, the students are required to finish their exercises within the limited time and standardize their answers. (4) It's necessary to feedback in time and make proper comments.A great many cases have been listed in this thesis, which carry out all the time the notions of the new biology curriculum for senior schools as well as the ideas of effective teaching. The new trials that the thesis blaze are that the theory of effective teaching can be applied in biology teaching in senior school, that"the leading role"which teachers play in teaching and"the main body"which students act as can be fallen together properly, that the improvement of students'subject diathesis and that of their results of school work can be united and that the acceleration of students'development can be connected with the improvement of efficiency teachers work. What is worth mentioning is that the stategy"the validity of improving aggrandizement trainging"and the strategy"the validity of improving teaching design"have been investigated roundly in this thesis, and the ideas available for common development of both teachers and students have been formed simultaneously.
