The teacher is the main executor of the curriculum reform,is one of the effective factors whether the curriculum reformsucceeds or fails. The teacher' s quality improvement, themanner change, the compatible enhancement decide whether thenew curriculum implementation is smooth, whether the newcurriculum plan will succeed. In recent years, along with ournational new curriculum reform carrying on, the domesticscholars have more and more practical and operationalresearches on the new curriculum implementation. Literatureson the teacher compatibility to the new curriculum reform alsoappear one after another. But there is still a lack ofresearches on the countryside teachers' readiness facing thenew curriculum reform. In view of this, this research attempts,through the investigation of Yiyang in Hunan, to understandHunan and even the national similar areas the countrysidejunior middle school English teachers' readiness condition orcompatible degree when they implement the new curriculum, andto put forward the corresponding improvement proposals.This research uses such methods as questionnaire survey,interview and classroom observation to carry on theinvestigation to Yiyang's junior middle school Englishteachers. Based on the investigation, this research summarizesthe encouraging changes as well as current still existingproblems about countryside junior middle school Englishteachers in the process of the new curriculum, analyzes thereasons which have caused the problems appeared, and attemptsto propose solving methods.In the investigation we may see, the countryside juniormiddle school English teachers have certain readiness to the new curriculum implementation: The teachers' mannerssupporting the new curriculum reform are quite explicit;Partial teachers' education ideas have changed;Partialteachers' teaching ways have appeared transformation signs.But in the investigation we also find, while implementing thenew curriculum, the countryside junior middle school Englishteachers still have some problems which are universal and worthtaking into account: The participation consciousness is notstrong; The specialized preparation is not adequate; Theunderstanding is inconsistent with the motion; Teachingresearch ability is low.The reasons causing above-mentioned problems are variousand mixed which together affect the teachers' compatibilityor competence to the new curriculum. Generally includes: Theteacher' s psychological pressure is oversized; The schooladministration system is backward; Reform of necessarymeasures laggs; The teacher training mechanism is imperfect;The new curriculum itself still remains flaw.Finally, based on the investigation results, pointing outproblems with the reason analyses, connecting with theadvancement and the correlation researches of the newcurriculum reform, this research proposes certain suggestionsin order to enhance the countryside junior middle schoolEnglish teachers' compatibility to the new curriculum aroundthree aspects, such as the quality of developing the newcurriculum, the initiative adaptation of the teachers to thenew curriculum, and the internal and external environmentswhere teachers implement the new curriculum.
