The application of data-logger system in physics teaching, one wayto integrate information technology into physics curriculum, caneffectively promotes reform in high school physics experiment teachingunder the new curriculum ideas, and will be an inevitable trend of futurephysics teaching. It is found, basing on literature research, that relevantresearches in mainland of China mainly focus on using data-logger toimprove traditional experiment and designing data-logger-basedexperiments, rarely involving studies in application of dataloggingtechnology in the practical physics teaching. Breakthroughs in this fieldis hoped in this article.The article bases on constructivism and "learn with technology"theory, and involve studies on experiments design, teaching design(strategy), teaching effect, and technical development combined withcourseware. It also includes investigations into the present situation ofusing data-logger in physics teaching and forecasts the prospect ofdata-logger application.1. Experiment-designs. Two typical experiments, "the quantitativeinvestigation of law of electromagnetic induction" and "the capacitorcharging and discharging and the establishment of the concept ofcapacitance", are evidences of the advantages of data-logger system.2. Teaching design (strategy).First put forward two basicapplication mode of data-loggers in the physics teaching: situationdemonstration teaching mode and student teams investigation teachingmode, then follow with four principles: The selective principle, theprinciple of proceeding in an orderly way, development principle,guidance and organized principle.3. Teaching effect research. It's discovered that application ofdatalogging technology in teaching can stimulate student's study interestand inquisition enthusiasm, and enhances students' ability in graphing.4. Technical development. Experimental video and dataloggingsynchronous teaching courseware as a new way to apply data-logger inphysics experiment teaching is developed, and used in teaching practice. 5. Present situation investigations. It shows that, there is a long wayto data-logger's widespread and effective application in teaching. Weneed further to expand its application "quantity" and promote itsapplication "qulity" under allround support.It's hoped that the article can provide theory and practice basis forapplication of datalogging technology in physics teaching of middleschool...
