Curriculum content refers to the specific facts, points of views, principles, problems as well as the modes to deal with them in every discipline. The selection of curriculum content ought to be close to life and adaptive to the characteristics of students and schooling. At present, curriculum content in many of our minority areas deviates from students'actual life and affects directly the nation's educational development. Thus, the study on curriculum content of minority areas under multicultural background becomes a current issue urgently probed into.Based on the standpoints of both cultural eco-environment theory and multicultural education theory, this study is to make an in-depth probe into Tibetan traditional culture and primary school's curriculum problem in Danba County with the methods of literature review, in-depth interview, fieldwork, etc and one case in Danba County, Ganzi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.This article consists of five integrated parts:Introduction: This part explores the origin of this study, clarifies its aims and significances and introduces its current situations.Theoretical basis and methods: Based on the practical content of this article, this part expatiates cultural eco-environmental theory and multicultural education theory which are both the theoretical basis for this study and puts forward the research methods.Research process: This part mainly discusses the research design from three aspects, namely the design of content, the design of interview and the design of survey. It clarifies why Danba is selected as the case and confirmed as the research site and elaborates the whole research process from the beginning to the end.Research result: This part is composed of three parts, including the analysis of problems, the requirement of the locals and the rational thought of the researcher. This paper analyzes the lack of access to learn the Tibetan culture in the curriculum of social culture and primary school, and finds that the current text book is not in accord with their cognitive experience and that the present curriculum content cannot arouses students'interest. Based on the requirements of the local people, the paper put forwards that multicultural education is of great importance in the preservation of racial cultural heritage, and that the transmission of knowledge and the development of human kind are the two themes confronted by the current education.Suggest: This part gives some suggests on the primary curriculum content in Danba based the analysis of above parts. The suggests are: Building the base of curriculum resources, promoting the development of the school-based curriculum, improving the art curriculum.
