The 21st century is characteristic with knowledge economy. Knowledge Management (KM) is the focus of contemporary studies, but it mainly centers on the KM in business organizations. Education is a process that takes knowledge as a medium to promote the two-way improvement between man and knowledge. Therefore, KM is drawn into the educational field, which inevitably has a strong influence on educational activities. Under this situation, the study on KM in Education is moving forward. In my point of view, the effective application of KM in Education has two advantages: On one hand, it could greatly improve the learning efficiency of educational organizations and individuals, promote the spread of knowledge in the organize, help pedagogues and students improve ability and efficiency of obtaining knowledge. Consequently, it could increase quantity and value of the whole organization and achieve innovating development of knowledge in education. On the other hand, it could set up organizational culture, improve the level of the scientific research on education , promote innovations in education, and promote the team spirit of pedagogues and students remarkably. It is consistent with the request of fostering persons with ability in the knowledge society. Therefore, KM in Education is an important strategy in the educational field.This thesis analyses and summarizes KM in Education in the aspects of its background, research situation and significance, meanwhile, this thesis touches the content of the research and innovation.First, this thesis expounds the theoretical basis of KM in Education, discusses knowledge,knowledge in education, management and KM particularly, and emphasizes on knowledge in education. (1), according to the demand of research it classifies the knowledge in education in modernized education and informatization. Simultaneously, it expatiates factors and model of transforming of knowledge in education. (2), it analyses the definition and functions of management briefly, details the definition, intension and factors of KM.The second, the thesis offers the practical definition of KM in Education, and studies its goals and basic principles preliminarily. It focuses on it's strategies and flows. It facilitates multidimensional strategies and designs -- the helix orient flow, which includes obtaining, preserving, sharing, applying and innovating knowledge.The third, the thesis use the flowed systematic viewpoints to bring forward and design the structure model of KMS(Knowledge Management System) in Education, which makes a clear outline through the diagrams. After that, the thesis details it's primary content, which includes affirming aim and plan, designing organization framework, building culture, setting up system, evaluating performance and so on. Therefore, it builds the evaluation indicator system of KM in Education, and gives us the steps to appraise the performance of KM in Education using appraisal tools in fuzzy mathematics.In the process of research, the thesis adopts multi-method. It has finished the research work on the systemic way. The best has been tried to enrich the content of KM in Education theory, brings the effects of direction in practice, and provides some referenced bases of maneuverability.
