Human is an existence that pursuit for transcendence insistently, for fully displaying life strength, for excellence. Excellence means to try one's best to show one's all kinds of possibilities, which encourages people to scale every height of truth, virtue and beauty and shows that human is truly unified by life's factual and ideal images. Life itself is an existence that pursuits excellence forever, and excellence follows us in all our lives, which is the motive force and compass to motivate us to develop and encourages people to fight with all kings of difficulties and pains just like a lighthouse in the vast sea, and it becomes the permanent hope in one's deep heart. Education, which is a career that educates one's soul and guides one's spirit to grow healthily, should include praising, nurturing, encouraging and realizing the mission of excellence. Therefore, showing solicitude for excellence is education's permanent mission and responsibility.This paper includes four parts:Part one: trying to understand excellence. The thesis analyzes excellence in Chinese traditional culture and foreign philosophy and then inquires into the meaning of excellence, the characteristics of excellence including creativity, ration, virtue and appreciation of the beautiful.Part two: pursuing excellence is the same request of human and education. The process of pursuing excellence is a process of sublimating humanity, bettering personality, and raising life's spiritual state and seeking good life; the education with guide of excellence becomes an existential means of displaying life's potentiality, and an enlightening place where life's personality, ration, virtue and appreciation of the beautiful grow. All of these mean that education should insist on the measure of value to commending virtue. Part three: alienation of man's excellence in real education and the analysis of the reasons. In this part, the thesis lists some examples of alienation of man's excellence in real education and then analyzes the reasons.Part four: approaching excellence is the permanent interest of education. In this part, the author probes into how to realize man's excellence. The author explains this topic from the aspects of performing enlightening education, inspiring ration, nurturing virtues; paying attention to humane curriculum and arousing one's consciousness of excellence; advocating personalized education to display one's strength of highest possibilities; building good classroom ecosystem to release the vigor of one's excellence.
