With P.E curriculum reform of our country's basic education, promote fully the deepening of quality education, the curriculum reform of P.E specialty must be enforced, track and field course is the important integrant of P.E specialty curriculum and is also the important content of middle school P.E curriculum. University P.E specialty track and field course usually has special course and general course, in addition, general course is the most fundamental course, it makes students grasp firmly the basic knowledge and technique ability only through effective general course studying, as a result, it can establish a sturdy foundation for students continuing to specialize. So it is especially important to accelerate the reform process for track and field general course which is the traditional main basic subject curriculum. Moreover, the formulation of the content of courses is a key link of realizing train objective and specification, it is the most important to carry on the optimization of the teaching content for cultivating students'rational professional knowledge reservation and ability,forming the full development comprehensive quality, adapting the society demand's change, to greatly improve the quality of track and field teaching.This thesis bases on the philosophy, sociology, pedagogy, psychology, modern education theory and P.E pedagogy, utilizes the literature, questionnaire, mathematical statistic, logic analysis, puts the teaching content of track and field teaching program in University P.E and track and field general course in Henan University P.E as research subject, to conduct in-depth research for optimization of the teaching content of track and field general course, in order to greatly improve the quality of track and field teaching.The result of the research shows that the teaching objective of track and field general course in Henan University P.E keep up with the situation in the thinking and the concept, but the teaching objective rather simplistic, only trains teachers, and limits the competitive athletic, it doesn't correspond to the present objective of cultivating complex talents; the teaching content of track and field general course in Henan University P.E still puts the traditional competitive content as the main line, lacks the content of fitness and practice to some extent, can't adapt the need of middle school P.E teaching, isn't good for cultivation of students'comprehensive ability.In view of the situation of the current teaching content, the author uses the idea of the teaching content optimization of Babanski as guide, bases on the choice of the teaching content in the questionnaire, combines the views and suggestions of experts, and according to the teaching content optimization's principle, finally constructs the new system of the teaching content of track and field general course: 1.The theory includes athletics outlined, athletics technique, athletics teaching, athletics fitness principles and methods, athletics venues painting, athletics competition organization and scheduling, prevention and treatment of common injuries in athletics; 2.The technique includes fitness athletics, competitive athletics, expand athletics; 3.The practice mainly cultivates the teaching, training, competition, innovation capability of students by teaching practice, magistrate training and training practice. 4.140 class hours of teaching total hours is more suitable, the class hour proportion of every teaching content is theoretical part ( 25%),technique part (55.6%),practical part(13.9%),check part (5.5%).
