The successful attempt in transforming pupils learning style to inquiry way of learning which is conducive to foster pupils pioneering spirit and practice ability is one of the main achievements of China's educational reform on basic curriculum. This new way of learning emphasize on the pupil as an independent subject, focusing on the experience and practice of the individual during study, thus putting the pupils the decision maker of what to learn and how to. It is characterized with its openness, exploring, independent, process—going, practicality as well as creativity.However, this exploratory way of learning should not be absolutized and formalized, as it does not repudiate the traditional way of learning, such as the acceptant way of learning, the inquiry way of learning and teaching method and its respective curriculum are integrated with each other. The inquiry method of teaching is focused on question inquiry through question seeking, deep pondering and solving the problems, there comes a sense of success as well as a feeling of satisfaction which will generate a strong desire for futher inquiry and problems solving. The performance of this teaching method can be summed up as the following four steps: scene designing, independent inquiry; raising question and collaborate inquiry; multi—exchanges of ideas and verification; encouraging evaluation and extending inquiry. The establishment ofinquiry learning course with diversified subjects has opened a wider space for pupils individualized learning. The study class of small topic for discussion is a new course. Though there are problems in combining the theory with practice which need to be tackled, the obvious effect have been proved through the implementation process where it made an important break through in the content of study with a great renovation in learning style, it has also brought about a remarkable change in the relationship between the pupils and the teachers which has become a spotlight in the curriculum reform process.
