Webquest is a novel learning method, a kind of studying basing on Internet basing on constructivism. With students being the central role and under the teacher's guidance step, Webquest fully used resources on Internet, accomplish certain learning task and enhance students' ability to learning new knowledge and to solve problems. Webquest plays important part in middle school chemistry education. I first get to know Webquest in 2001 and quickly attracted by this brand new, flexible and innovative teaching method. Since then, I have been putting my attention to it and engaged in the research of Webquest - a investigating learning method basing on Internet and its application in middle school chemistry education. My work includes:1. The concept of Webquest and its constitution, its origin and development.2. Research on the theory of Constructivism. Constructivism is the theory foundation of Webquest. Basing on the Internet, Webquest motivated students to carry out active investigation by certain task, and thus accomplish the process of active knowledge construction. This paper mainly did some research in the two aspects of "teaching" and "learning". The emphasizes have been putting on several teaching methods.3. Research on investigating learning basing on Internet. Emphasized have been putting on the relationship between Webquest and investigating learning as well as the application of multimedia in Webquest.4. Research on the application of Webquest in the chemistry education of middle school, including: the topic choosing, Webquest designing, and two way of designing Webquest for middle school chemistry teaching, as well as the examples of both kinds. A integrated example of Webquest - "After the leakage of fluid chlorine", basing on my past teaching experience, is also included.
