In the autumn term in 2003, the new reform of the national elementary educational curriculum was carried out completely in the rural areas in Gangnan Areas in Guigang. It could not have been successful without each educator's cooperation, especially class masters. This research holds that , on one hand, the implementation of the new curriculum could not have been done without the active cooperation of class masters; on the other hand, the implementation of the new curriculum reoriented the role of a class master. To better give full play of the urging role of the class masters of the rural junior middle schools into the implementation of the new curriculum, we have to make clear what new roles class masters in the rural junior middle schools play under the new curriculum and seek the effective ways to help class masters to change their roles in practice to adapt to the needs of the new curriculum reform. This essay is divided into four parts:The first part is the prelude. It mainly narrates the theories for the problem and the proof for practice and the real significance and threoretical value of the research, provides the background materials and total thinking of the essay research. It also narrates the research's current situation-analyzing, the concrete content, means_choosing and the operating process,from questionaire-designing to the compiling and processing of the data. It makes an objective evaluation of the current situation of the roles of the class masters in the rural junior middle schools surveyed.The second part is about the requirement to the roles of the class masters under the new curriculum. It focuses on the challenges the class masters in the rural junior middle schools are facing and the role orientation of the class masters in the rural junior middle schools under the new curriculum. The challenges include class educational management concepts, class master's work goals, class education means, class education content, class student evaluation etc. Under the new curriculum the class masters in the rural middle schools are oriented as the researchers and creators in working ways, the models in moral character, the consultants in the healthy development of the students; psychology. Besides ,they are also the "agents of the students' parents", the "instructor" of the students' healthy growing, the "close friends" of the students' life and study etc.The third part is to analyze the current problems in the role-changing of the class masters in the rural middle schools .According to the first-hand materials attained from surveying the work tiredness, cultural quality, theoretical levels, educational ideas and working styles of the class masters in the rural junior middle schools, the essay deeply and thoroughly analyzes the existing problems in the role-changing of the class masters and the reasons for them.The fourth part is about the suggestions on the role-changing of class masters in rural junior middle schools under the new curriculum. They mainly include: first, how to build a good social environment for the role-changing work for the class masters; second, set up class master training system agreeing with the new curriculum reform; third, set up class master evaluation system agreeing with the goals of the new curriculum reform; fourth, establish a promotion system to speed up class master role-changing; fifth, try to improve the self-consciousness of the class masters of role-changing.
