Professor Ye Lan mentions in her book The Roles of Teachers:"what we have to reform on teaching is not only in the aspects of teaching theories, but also the teaching concept of the teachers and their teaching behaviors on everyday which they have been accustomed to."While in the books like The Implementation and Recommendations of the Curriculum Reform, The Role-Rebuilding of Teacher in 21th Century and Issues in the Curriculum Reform, he elaborates rationally and scientifically that the traditional roles of the teachers are not suitable in the aspects such as the concepts of education, teaching practices, teacher-student relationship and knowledge reserves etc. Their basic points are: the curriculum exists in symbiosis with the teachers, so the teachers and the curriculum can develop together. Any implementation of the new curriculum will promote the renewal of the teaching concept, and forces the suitable changes of the behaviors of the teachers, the speed and the extent of the changes of the teachers'behaviors determine the success or failure of the process of curriculum reform. There are two inseparable elements of the curriculum reform:"technical factor"and"human factor". Curriculum design is the"technical factor"of the curriculum reform, and the teachers are the"human factors"of the curriculum reform. Only through the realization of the reunification of"technical factor"and the"human factors", the implementation of the new curriculum can be carried out smoothly. In the new curriculum, as"the human factors,"the teachers not only perform the new curriculum but also design and adjust it and at the same time, they have to discuss and solve the problems appearing in the process of the implementation. Therefore, the new curriculum proposed new requirements to teachers'capacity on the decision of the new curriculum, the development and the research, and at the same time, it improves teachers'position in the curriculum and the role to the curriculum. From the role and functions of the teaching as a profession, in 1970s, the book compiled by UNESCO Learning to be—the World of Education, Today and Tomorrow, demonstrated a very clear description of the roles of the teachers: teachers' role had become increasingly less to disseminate knowledge but encouraged more and more thinking Teachers needed to focus more time and energy on those that were engaged in creative activities and the results so as to achieve mutual understanding and encouragement. To adapt to this change, it requires the change of teachers'roles. This thesis is to follow the basic concept of the new curriculum to analyze changes in the roles of the political teachers in middle school under the new curriculum. It consists of three parts. Part one introduces the challenges faced by the political teachers in middle school under the new curriculum because the original roles are not suited to the needs of the new curriculum reform part two, as the main body of the thesis, focuses on the analysis of the characteristics of the political teachers in middle school under the new curriculum, part three, as the part of the solution, tries to study the efforts that the political teachers in middle school should take in order to realize their roles. This thesis mainly focuses on the three aspects and tries to put the roles of the political teachers in the environment of the new curriculum to analyze and summarize the roles of teachers in a deepest sense and in all aspects from updating the theories to the application. The key issues to be resolved: the analysis of the roles of the political teachers under the new curriculum, and how to face, elaborate and value the change of the roles of teachers.
