Nowadays, with the further understanding of mathematics and the educationalidea of mathematics, more and more people begin to realize the importance andeducational value of mathematical history. As is pointed out in the MathematicsCurriculum Standards of Ordinary Senior school put forward by Education Department in2003, the historical knowledge of mathematics is necessary to be integrated into theteaching of senior mathematics.Based on the realization of the educational value of the mathematical history andthe understanding of the educational idea of mathematics, according to the newMathematics Curriculum Standards of Ordinary Senior school, the historical knowledgeabout mathematicians, mathematical concepts and mathematical equations areintroduced in practical teaching. The thesis makes an effort to study on the applicationof mathematical history in the classrooms of senior high school.The thesis first states the necessity and availability of the application ofmathematical history in the classrooms of senior high school. Then, based on aconcrete teaching experiment and a questionnaire designed for students, the thesisindicates the ways of students obtaining historical knowledge of mathematics mostlylie in having class. The introduction of mathematical history can stimulate thestudents' learning interest and improve their mathematical historical quality. The timefor giving historical knowledge should be limited between 5 and 10 minutes, whichcan't affect normal teaching progress. The choice of historical materials should beconnect with teaching content and fit students' cognitive level.On the whole, it is hoped to further understand the spirit of the new reform ofcurriculum through practice, hoped to offer some suggestions and help to the presentreform of curriculum.
