Ethical Research On The Divorce Problems In Present China

According to statistics, the divorce rate in China has undergoneups and downs, among which it has reached to several climaxes. Butfrom 1980s to present, it goes towards a steady and rising tendency,and it has a large scale of divorcing populations. As a result, manykinds of social problems come about. Such phenomena have attractedsome scholars' attention. The concerned departments of ourgovernment also have attached great importance to these problems.More and more researches on divorce problems are in discussions.However, the ethical survey, ethical roots, ethical solutions and ethicalstructure of divorce are not fully discussed. The divorce ethics, animportant part of family marriage ethics, should be paid greatattention in the construction of socialism ethics. Through the point ofethics, this research will provide a new horizon for the study ofmarriage problems and enrich the study of family ethics. What's more,this research will benefit the construction of present family ethics andenhance the general ethical level as well, thus promoting the wholesociety into a steady, prosperous and developing state.In the beginning, macroscopically and microscopically, thisthesis tries to have an ethical survey from the behavior, motive, means,and whole process of divorce. It concludes that it's unethical to getdivorced because of a total breakup of love. But many unethicalphenomena and social ethical problems cannot be neglectedconcerning with divorce motives and individual or collectivebehaviors.Through the analysis of the growing tendency towards divorcerate and the illustration of unethical behaviors, we can find out that italso concerns with ethics, besides its political, economic and culturalelements. On the one hand, the outer elements include the change in family ethical relationship, the imperfection in evaluating andregulating the family ethics; on the other hand, the inner elementsinclude the conflicts in a multi-marriage individual value, thecomplete change towards the idea of getting divorced, the absence ofresponsibility and crisis in trust.Facing the present divorce problems, we should take advantagesof them and try to avoid the disadvantages by the means of ethics.Firstly, attach more importance to the ethical evaluation of divorce.The whole society should build a set of standards, in which love is inaccordance with responsibility, and establish a healthy publicatmosphere. Secondly, strengthen the regulation of divorce ethics.Individual and social ethical regulations are combined with lawregulations and psychological regulations. In this way, it can lessensome unnecessary divorces and individual or social damages thatdivorce has brought. Thirdly, establish a new system of divorce ethics.We should consider an organic union of freedom and responsibility asthe key note, the breakup of love as the basic principle, andself-behavior and freedom, equality between man and woman,tolerance and concession, implement of responsibility, civilizeddivorce as the main norms. Of course, the construction of ethicaldivorce must be merged into the present construction of modernfamily ethics, and be in correspondent with the modern family ethics.In the construction of family ethics, divorce ethics should beemphasized. We expect to avoid hasty divorces under the guarantee ofdivorce freedom, and at last form a civilized divorce system.
