As a consumption unit, the principal responsibility of a family isto organize the consumption rationally. Family ethics is embodied byvalue sense of consumption, distribution of means of subsistence. Soresearch on the ethical issue of family consumption, is important notonly to economy ethics but also to family ethics.On the basis of the contemporary practice to construct economysociety and family values, guided by Marxism, using such methods asdialectical materialism and value analyzing, this essay analyzes thecauses of the lack of morals in family consumption from the facts ofconsumption morals in our country today. The essay tries to initiaterational ethical consciousness in every aspect of family life in order tobuild ethical culture of rational consumption. It falls into three parts.The first part is introduction, the second part the body, and the lastconclusion.In introduction, a conclusion is reached that, after introducing thepresent conditions of family issues, it is not attached importance tostudy family consumption. The essay holds that consumption ideas,consumption actions, consumption patterns are enough to reflectfamily morality, so to adjust consumption ideas is the basis ofbuilding family morality and harmonious family.In Chapter One, the author explains what ethical essence offamily consumption is, on the basis of some analyses on suchconcepts as family consumption and family consumption ethics. Itreveals the reality of the family consumption ethics.In Chapter Two, It emphasizes some non-moral-phenomena andtheir reasons in family consumption, and believes that familyconsumption is characterized with such non-moral-phenomena as.inherent being compelled trait, unfairness in distributing means of subsistence, unhealthy consumption patters, inferior consumption.The reasons creating these are many-faceted: Chinese traditionalculture and society environment, society system, the most important——consumers themselves.Chapter Three deals with the ethical principles of moderateconsumption. Four basic ethical principles are put forward here, theyare the principle of healthy development, the principle of familyholism, the principle of family happiness and the principle of ecologycare..In Chapter Four, the author tries to provide, some ethicalapproaches to solve the problems existing in family consumption.Some effective measures as follows: to develop education on familyconsumption, to build ethical mechanism to restrict consumptionactions, to cultivate ethical culture of family consumption.In conclusion, the author points out that harmonious family is thefundamental part of harmonious society. Harmonious family dependson family consumption ideas. So to cultivate correct ideas, to formhealthy consumption patters is the eternal theme of buildingharmonious family and harmonious society.
