Psychology is the motile reflection to the object. Life values influencePsychology directly. Under the undergraduates' psychological problem, there is theconfusion of life values. The relationship of undergraduates' life values and themental health need studying thoroughly.The values questionnaire and SCL-90 mental health research tools are used to668 undergraduates of Nanchang City. The research discusses the main characters ofundergraduates' life values and mental health and their relationship. The researchshows that:(1). As a whole, the undergraduates' life values are positive. They pay greatattention to the enhancement of individual quality. They fulfill duty andresponsibilities, and advocate nature. They take the good quality, morality andconscience as the foundation. They take morahty and conscience as the main rule ofthe goal and the realization method.(2) Male undergraduates are more possible to be inclined to money and materials,professional achievement, fame and social position, intelligence and opportunity thanfemale undergraduates, Male undergraduates are more possible to be inclined toself-accomphshment, returning to nature, contributions to happiness of human beings,character and personality than female undergraduates.(3) Undergraduates with high mental health level are more possible to beinclined to money and materials, fame and social position, public opinion than thosewith low mental health level. Undergraduates with low mental health level are morepossible to be inclined to friendship and love, contributions to the state, contributionsto happiness of human beings, hard study for knowledge, character and personality,morality and conscience than those with high mental health level.(4) In order to strengthen the undergraduates' mental health education work,this research discusses the following six advices: give prominence to the life valueguidance of collectivism; enhance comprehensively consult teachers' quality; fromthe mental health's point of view, grasp the main content and choose the appropriate method; strengthen the life values intervention in the profession counseling; uniontripartite strength including society, school and family to create the good atmosphere;strengthen the research about the influence to the undergraduates' mental health bythe life values.
