The establishment of Teaching Assessment System in higher schools, which is theinevitable demand and result of great-leap-forward development of higher education, isan important step to establish the quality monitoring and guarantee system with Chinesecharacteristics for higher education and to promote the sustainable development of highereducation. But the higher education assessment system, which is an exotic term, just has ashort development history in the field of higher education in our country. Despite of someachievements, it still has much deficiency. To promote the sustainable development ofhigher education we should be active to probe the way how the Undergraduate TeachingAssessment System goes a sustainable development to ensure its scientific and advancedfeatures. This article discusses the current situation of the construction and operation ofUndergraduate Teaching Assessment System in our country. By reviewing the history ofUndergraduate Teaching Assessment System in our country, analyzing and using theexperience of the construction of higher education assessment system in some developedcountries for reference, the article based on the reality of our country discusses the basicstandpoints and conditions of the sustainable development of Undergraduate TeachingAssessment System, and puts forward the opinion that we should nurture and construct anactive, healthy, harmonious and orderly undergraduate teaching assessment culture inorder to promote the sustainable development of Undergraduate Teaching AssessmentSystem. This article also systematically studies the connotation and function ofUndergraduate Teaching Assessment Culture, the duty of its main construction bodies,and its practice countermeasures from a multidisciplinary view.
