Speaking teaching has a one-hundred-year hard history since 1904, when Chinese was regarded as a separate course to learn. But nowadays, with the reform of new textbooks, as one of the five learning fields, speaking communication has been paid much more attention to.This article is mainly studying about the speaking communicative teaching in Wuhai city. It used many ways to study, such as: questionnaires, observing, and interviewing. The author took a survey to the present state of Chinese speaking communicative teaching in primary schools in the city, analyzed the relative reasons and brought up some countermeasures to deal with the situations.The survey shows: With the guide of new course ideas, Chinese speaking communicative teaching in primary schools in Wuhai city has changed a lot and the teaching results have been much better than before. However, the survey also shows there are a lot of problems in the Chinese speaking communicative teaching in primary schools in the city. The problems are: the teachers are not so interested in how to train the students'speaking communicative abilities; they simply think that speaking communicative teaching is listening and speaking teaching, ignoring communication. During the speaking communicative class, between the teacher and the students, among the students, they can't communicate or react in deed. This kind of class becomes the performing stage of a few students who do well in English. Pair work and group work haven't been done at all. They mainly depend on the textbooks, lacking of flexibility and creativity without any training to communicative skills including body language uses. At the same time it weakens the spoken training and ignores creating situation. And also the students'speaking communicative abilities are different from each other in different areas. Of course, the reasons are different, too. Some are subjective and some are objective.Thinking over to the survey and connecting with remands of the course standard to the pupils'speaking communicative abilities, the author bring up some speaking teaching to improve the pupils'Chinese speaking communicative abilities. As teachers, we must renew our own speaking teaching ideas stepping out from the thinking, role and studying wrong areas; we should improve our own language qualities and make solid foundation; we should explore the ways to improve the Chinese speaking communicative teaching results. Such as: paying much attention to training of listening and speaking; making full use of the class teaching; giving full play to the teachers'guide role in every procedure; trying to get the result of reacting from two sides; connecting the speaking teaching with the regular reading and writing teaching together; getting the feed back in time; setting up a whole scientific evaluative system and speaking teaching material store.This article took the survey as the base, analyzed the main problems existed in teaching and finally found out the countermeasures. So it made the study be scientific and be aimed to.
