As the age gradually grows, physical functioning of the middle and old aged is weaker and weaker, and various diseases are threatening their health. At the same time, as the time and technology develop, and material lives of human beings are being gradually advanced, aging societies appear from country to country. With this background, the issue of promoting and preserving the health of the middle and old and alleviating their aging processes becomes more and more significant.As one of the traditional physical exercises in Chinese civil life, yang-ge dance has become the most popular way of preserving health for the middle and old aged because of its special moving form and intensity which are perfect for the physical and mental status of them.This paper generally analyzed the changes of figure, functioning, and physical qualities of the middle and old aged female during the process of yang-ge dance. In addition, compared with the indexes of the person who has never danced yang-ge before, this paper analyzed the influence of yang-ge dance on promoting the physical status of the middle and old aged female, and also provided them with reliable theories for their exercise choices and health improvements.Research results about indexes of figure, functioning and physical qualities are as follows:(1)The wringing and stretching of waist, coax, shoulder, knee and ankle can prominently make lower limbs thinner, but the effect on upper limbs is not so prominent. Yang-ge dance also can greatly lower the weight, fat weight, fat percentage, fat degree and BMI of the middle and old aged female. In addition to the restraining effect on fat accumulation, yang-ge dance can also put off the aging process of the figure.(2)Yang-ge dance has positive effect on lung functioning, but not so great promotion for heart functioning.(3)Yang-ge dance can promote the softness, balance ability, smartness of human bodies. At the same time, yang-ge dance can alleviate the limbs degeneration of middle and old aged female, and keep the organ that controls moving balance and the tissue of articulation muscle in good state. In a word, yang-ge dance is a perfect kind of exercise for the middle and old aged female.
