| With the age,the body functions of the elderly decline gradually and they are more prone to suffer from various chronic diseases.However,with the development of technology and science,people have higher standard toward their life quality.As more and more countries are confronted with an aging population,making an exercise prescription accordingly for the elderiy and giving them guidance about how to choose the suitable exercise have become a significant research topic exercise scientifically.Walking safe,simple,easy to control the intensity of exercise,is the preferred way to fitness and sport no age restrictions,time and venue for people of all ages can exercise according to their respective characteristics.Walking the elderly long-term exercise can relieve tension,stress and anxiety;and in increasing muscle strength,improve endurance and leg flexibility,help control weight and reduce body fat;strengthen the immune system,increases bone density,but also can improve cardiovascular function,reduce the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases;frequent walking can also improve sleep,relieve stress,lower blood pressure and other diseases.The walking exercise lasting 6 months for a particular group of people,24 women aged60-65 who live in Shahekou District of Dalian,with the purpose of observing the influences brought about by the exercise prescriptions on their body shape and fitness.The given exercise prescriptions is based on continuous training method and transformation training method,and the strength of exercise is adjusted according to the heart rate,the cadence,and the subjective feeling.Test for subject’s weight,skin fold thickness and body circumference,standing on one foot with eyes closed grip strength,choice reaction,the Sit and Reach and other indicators are given before and after the experiments.After analyzing the data gathered form the outcomes of experiments,the study aims to provide scientific guidance for walking.The results showed that long-term exercise can reduce seniors’ waist,thight circumference,calf circumference,thigh skinfold,abdominal skinfold thickness as well as lose weight,improve balance,flexibility,coordination and leg endurance of the old.Thus,it helps prevent various diseases caused by the fall of older persons. |
