As Alpine skiing is the rising event for northerners of our country in winter, it becomes to the general or compulsory course for more and more the colleges in northern, which promotes teaching innovation and diversification of teaching content. Owing to freshly come into these colleges, Alpine skiing still followed some dated education theories and teaching patterns in traditional teaching. Thus how to construct the teaching patterns that are directed by the advanced educational idea has become the key to Alpine skiing teaching reformation.Small-group teaching model, which also names social communication pattern, let students make up of some small learning group under the teacher conducts in order to exert students'freedom and accelerate students'innovation. It's deserved to say that every individual in learning group may flow by landscape orientation or reset according to the different teaching's content or object. Now that the Small-group teaching patterns was advanced and constantly matured, it has been emphasized and popularized worldwide and has active meaning for accelerating teaching reformation of Alpine skiing especially for advancing students'self-study , cooperation and innovation.This study explores the feasibility of application of Small-group teaching patterns to Alpine skiing teaching by a comprehensive study such as : document-studying, expert-interviewing, questionnaire and experiments which cover the developing tendency of teaching pattern of PE. Both inside and outside China and the theory, purpose, conditions, strategies, appraisal and teaching characteristics contained and implied in this Small-group teaching pattern. The result that the Small-group teaching pattern applies to Alpine skiing teaching practice proves that the Small-group teaching pattern is superior to the traditional one in appraisal of students' skills, the illustration and demonstration, the improvement of their ability to observe, analyze and solve problems , evaluation and betterment of their interpersonal relationships and their attitudes towards study, which enables the students"to cooperate in learning and to learn in cooperation." In the circumstances of quality education, in particular, the teaching pattern has its unique function on students' cooperative ability, innovative spirit and practical capacity.
