Research On The Influence Of University Science And Technology Ability On Regional Economic Development

With the coming of knowledge economy, the competition between different countries is mainly for the high technology and knowledge innovation. In order to enhance its own competition ability, every nation and area is constantly setting up its national innovation system and regional innovation system. As an important part in national innovation system, the universities take significant missions in bringing up innovative talents and social services, the science and technology ability also plays a more and more important role in promoting the regional economic development.Based on the correlative studies, this paper definite the university science and technology ability, and divides it into 4 parts which are the input ability of university science and technology research,the output ability of university science and technology research,the productions' transform ability of university science and technology research and the basic environment ability of university science and technology research. By applying the theories of science and technology ability, economic growth and regional economy, this paper discusses the mechanism of how the university science and technology ability influences on the regional economic development, chooses 9 provinces and 15 universities from eastern areas as research subjects and establishes two evaluation index systems. Then by using principal component analysis and correlation analysis, it analyzes the affinity relationship between the university science and technology ability and regional economic development in the eyes of macroscopical and microcosmic separately. Finally, it points out some suggestions on enhancing the university science and technology ability, which will promote the economic development more and more better and quickly: increase the government's support to the science research of university; strengthen the talents in university's training and management; strengthen the subjects construction and cultivate the first-class subjects; inspire the technology inventions and intensify the original innovations; cultivate the high-technology companies and hasten the productions' transform ability of university science and technology research.
