Environmental awareness is the outcome of human beings history. It is a kind of new ideology and a new value. The paper evaluates the environmental awareness of village residents in Dalian City and studies the countermeasures through investigating the environment awareness of them.Firstly, the paper discusses the concept of environment awareness; studies the development process and origin of environmental thoughts; demonstrates the academic and realistic sense of investigating the environmental awareness of village residents in Dalian City; summarizes the environmental awareness surveys in our country before; and analyzes the characteristics and existent problems currently. Then, the paper introduces the method of investigation, statistics and designing questionnaires. This investigation combines the questionnaires, accessing and observing, avoids the deviation which is brought by simple questionnaires to a certain extent. The questionnaires which were modified lots of times through the investigations, were sent out at the selected schools in each location and the students took the questionnaires home inviting the parents and answering it actually.Secondly, the paper makes use of the spss software to deal with the data, analyzes the impact factors and error; combines the facts through seeing about village residents'understanding level of environmental knowledge; the attitudes to environment; the environmental habit behavior; the participating will and evaluation of government work, and finally evaluates the environment awareness of village residents in Dalian City. The conclusion is that village residents in Dalian City know the environmental knowledge in the certain degree but need to be strengthened; have realized the importance of the environmental problems but in the low level; know the people's awareness is the basic reason of the environmental problems, but the understanding about what is responsible people is confused and the legal realization of environment is very weak; most people have the attitudes of environment at the sustainable development point, but people are short of the cognition of the pesticides and chemical fertilizer's hazard, even ignorant, and the attitudes of village enterprise's pollution are numb; the village residents' enthusiasm level is high, the environmental participation level and participation will are better than the environmental behavior level.Basically, the environmental awareness level of village residents in Dalian City is low, we could advance their environmental awareness through elevating people's cultural level, enhancing the environmental education, keeping economic growth at the sustainable development point, and improving the environmental laws. To sum up, measures above have a certain realistic sense to improve people's environmental awareness.
