Chemistry is one of nature subjects based on experiments and it plays unique function in bringing up the students' innovation capability with its vivid charm and rich connotation. The junior chemistry is the initial step for students' learning. Although they have strong interests, their abilities of reading and understanding are limited, and most of the basic conceptions are difficult and abstract. Also because of the influence of the traditional teaching methods and other more factors, the students' interests disappear gradually. Hence teaching reforms of chemistry in junior middle school are pressing.At present, our country has carried out various reforms of teaching to improve the actual situations in our country, and we went across many failures, also we gained a lot of results and explored a lot of good teaching methods. Now with carrying out and the development of the education reforms, experimental inquiry teaching is taken attention by more and more people. Inquiry teaching has some advantages in fostering the scientific literacy of students which other teaching methods can't assimilate.This dissertation focuses on the application and the effectiveness after applying the experimental inquiry teaching in chemistry in junior middle school. First, this dissertation starts from the current status and the problems facing now in chemical education, and leads to the inevitability of the reforms of chemical education; Secondly, the writer briefly sets up the concepts of the experimental inquiry teaching, and introduces the starting and the development of the experimental inquiry teaching in and out of seas, and its characters,theory basis,and principles; Thirdly, the writer comes up with the frames and implemental process of the experimental inquiry teaching, and shows the application of the experimental inquiry teaching in class and general effects created by this practice. Also the author points out the guiding ideology, strategy and the matter of the experimental inquiry teaching; In the end, the writer exhibits the advantages and importance of the experimental inquiry teaching and generally demonstrated the superiority of inquiry teaching. For the current inquiry teaching the author also gives a corresponding exploration and beautiful expectations.
