Since the promulgation of Chinese Language and Literature Curriculum Standard, educational circles have done research and exploration in various aspects about how to put this standard into practice. Many enheartening achievements have been witnessed in terms of cultivating students' attainments in Chinese language and literature as well as settling foundations for their life-long development. However, from a global perspective of high school Chinese language and literature educational circles, the implementation of literary education in junior high school phase of compulsory education is not yet fully satisfactory. Although the causes are multifaceted, an important one is scarcity of mature theoretical guidance and a consequent lack of effective tactics and methods in teachers' practice of literary education. Based on data collected from questionnaires, we try to understand the reality of how junior high school students receive literary education and discuss in this reality concrete tactics and measures for delivering literary education in junior high school. Local adjustments were made to the understanding of literary education, tactics and ways of delivering it by junior high school teachers of Chinese language and literature. Also included are some suggestions on how to heighten the attainments of teachers themselves. We sincerely hope that teachers will carry out education of literature in a better way and boost literary education in junior high school to a new height.
