With the opening to the outside further, bilingual teaching must be enforced. Although the voice of"playing for safety"can be heard, it is directed against learning age, it has got to a common view for higher vocational colleges in China to develop bilingual teaching, the goal of which is to discuss some problems in bilingual teaching, try to find out experience in teaching, break a practicable path, research and form practicable modes through teaching practice.The paper, by gathering , sorting out and analyzing document materials, mainly studies such contents as: definitions of bilingual education and bilingual teaching, relationship between bilingual education and bilingual teaching, goal of bilingual teaching, modes of bilingual teaching, plan for electing titles and teaching material construction of bilingual teaching, status quo of bilingual teaching in China's higher vocational colleges, existing problems in China's higher vocational colleges, analysis of existing problems and countermeasures in increasing teaching quality of China's higher vocational colleges, etc.In bilingual teaching of higher vocational colleges in China, there are such problems as: hazy understanding, indeterminate orientation, critically shortage teachers, making their own choice in teaching materials, mixed teaching program, lack of scientific evaluation standards, irregular English level of higher vocational students in China, lack of scientific course offered, superficial study on some important concepts and theories, etc.By means of the analysis of causes, the countermeasures are put forward as follows: the department concerned in China should formulate policies to support the bilingual teaching of China's higher vocational colleges, the leaders of China's higher vocational colleges should pay more attention to bilingual teaching, strengthen teacher personnel construction, a teacher team with"double professional skills"should be built up. We should teach students in accordance with their aptitude, utilize multi-mode in teaching, make course offered more scientific, build up a professional of compiling teaching materials, improve teaching equipments, improve language environment, establish and improve stimulation mechanism of people with special skills and strengthen practice and simulation training of students, etc.
