Keeping a weekly diary is one of the major forms of composition training for middle school students. The influences of various factors, especially the serious tendency to deal with the writing examinations result in writing obctacle of different levels for college students. middle school students and pupils of our country,so traditional writing teaching for keeping a weekly diary is confronted with trouble and challenge in either question setting, form,content,or training approach as well as the relationship between the subjective and the objective. The paper reflects on the trouble and challenge facing traditional writing teaching and the present state of writing teaching based on the new curricula reform and deals with the assesment principle and style of self-reguleted weekly diary keeping and training result and practcal meaning of this kind of writing.self-regulated writing teaching for keeping a weekly diary is a newly-constructed writing teaching style inspired by the idea of the new curricula ,which attempts to change the monotonous state of being teacher-centred ,the separation of content and form from real life and from the studrnts ' interest and teaching situation. The links of self-regulated weekly diary keeping requires the students to mind themselves and society and the effect of knowledge, ability and virtue will be taken into comprehensive account. And the students are requested to allow full play to their initiative, enrich their emotions throughout the self-regulated atmosphere, accumulate knowledge and improve ability.The paper tries to construct the training pattern of self-regulated weekly diary keeping with three primary training mode as follows. The first step is to train a weekly diary keeping by studying the text with three major attempts at comments on paragraph, the appreciation of model articles, the clever design of situation and self-reguated article writing. The second step is to drill a weekly diary keeping by getting close to life with three concrete ways. such as return to nature , self-regulated writing,connection with life and self-demonstration. The third step is the wtiting training for weekly diary by approaching their native land, the student's hometown being the centre, self-regulated seeking, experiencing the history ,culure, man-made sights of their native place.self-regulated writing training for weekly diary contributes to the full development of the students' Chinese quality, promotes the formation of nice personality and excellent character of the students, develops the Chinese practice ability of the students and creates an open and vigorous class. This new teaching style of weekly diary keeping has achieved a certain result through teaching practice, motivates the students' writing motive, enhances the students' practice ability,changes the way of weekly diary keeping and completely promotes the Chinese quality of the students.
