Topic-learning websites are resources media station which are constructed for learning under the environment of network. Topic-learning websites built in middle schools can not only promote teachers to renew their educational ideas, but also students to transform their learning methods and improve their learning effects. In order to get comprehensive information about the present situation of topic-learning websites for middle school students, the paper, based on some related theories, conducted a survey of the websites from perspectives, such as websites functions, resources content, activity designs, assessment and feedback, degree of students' satisfaction with them, and their expectations. The results show that because of backward theoretical researches on the websites construction and teachers' weak educational theories and IT quality, there exist many problems in the websites, such as weak functions, spotted topics, and unscientific module design, etc. Then, based on the investigation and analysis and some related theories, the paper further explored how to construct effective topic-learning websites.The paper consists of six parts.The first part mainly explores the origin and aims of the study.The second part is literature review.In the third part, theoretical foundations about topic-learning websites are explored.The fourth part is the main body of the paper, which consists of two surveys about present situation of topic-learning websites.Based on the fourth part and some related theories, the fifth part mainly discusses how to construct an effective topic-learning websites.The six part is the conclusion of the text.
