"High School Geography Curriculum Standard (Experimental)" is a national mandatory document which standardizes all activities in geography teaching. The study which combines local actual reality in schools, local geography teaching, educational science research, and research-based study probes into the teaching research and reform under New Standard in high schools. The paper attempts to analyze the connotation of geography context teaching in high schools,classify it properly and elaborate on its significance, initially creating geography teaching Situations under the New Curricular Standard and making a theoretical and practical research. The study is based on Humanism, Constructivism, Multi-intelligences and Happy Teaching theories.The study evaluates the effect brought about by situational geography teaching under New Curriculum Standard in high schools through question-and-answer, exercises, case analysis, actual operation, activities in textbooks and organizing students to write survey reports and thesis and so on. The results of the evaluation show that situational geography teaching under New Curriculum Standard in high schools can highlight experience and help students to construct their knowledge. It can help raise questions and enlighten students to think actively. It enables students to develop the abilities of research and practice and draw their attention. It can reduce the difficulty in classroom teaching and stimulate students' learning interest and so on.
