Multi-media, which is both dynamic and static, includes pictures as well as written explanations. It can transfer the abstract into the concrete, create lifelike class environment, rich the teaching contents and arouse students' interest in Chinese. The application of it injects fresh energy into Chinese teaching in middle schools and enhances the effects of teaching greatly.But in the real progress of Chinese teaching in middle schools with the help of multi-media, there exist mis-understanding in thinking and warp such as the ignorance of the characteristics of Chinese and the neglect of the leading role of teachers and the subjectivity of students. In this way it is hard to realize the optimal integration of multi-media and Chinese discipline.Exploring the causes of the problems, we may conclude that it is mainly because our teachers do not understand the nature of multi-media entirely and its auxiliary position and they do not employ multi-media according to the characteristics of Chinese and the needs of students as the subjects.To solve the problems, teachers should change their notions of teaching, affirm the predominant position of students, recognize the auxiliary position of multi-media and enhance their accomplishments of modern information technology. Furthermore, teachers should realize the optimal integration of multi-media and Chinese according to the characteristics and requirements of Chinese discipline and give their attentions to the organic integration of multi-media and traditional teaching methods. . In consequence, multi-media can serve the practice of Chinese teaching in middle schools better and enhance the effects of teaching.
