As a core and fundamental theory of Educational Technology, the Instructional Design theory has been developing for half a century. To make a systematic research on Instructional Design theory on the development of China's Educational Technology, the thesis, starting from an educational technician's point of view, through the analysis of historical documents, combining the related cases of Educational Technology in practice and trying to analyze the historical process of Instructional Design, reflects the important influence of Instructional Design on China's Educational Technology. With three generations of historical process of Instructional Design as a stream, the whole thesis explores the scientific destination of Educational Technology, comments on two sorts of Instructional Design theories with Chinese characteristics, i.e. Corporated Multi-Media one and (teacher)-Guided—(students)-Centered one; and the Blending Learning problem which is regarded as the focus in the research field of Educational Technology. The thesis takes a positive stand on the important significance of Instructional Design theory on the development process of the perfection and rationalization of Educational Technology, expounds and proposes two development trends of Educational Technology: the scientific destination transfers from the "technical-centered" to the "educational-centered"; the practice transfers from the "teacher-centered" to the "students-centered".
