With the arrival of information age, education puts forward increasingly higher demands to teachers’ professional quality. Modern educational technology has been the essential ability for teachers. In order to enhance the application ability of teachers’ educational technology and promote the development of teachers’ specialization, the course of modern educational technology has been offered in succession by normal universities since1990s, which has been set as one of the common compulsory course by now. The purpose of opening this course is that the normal students could master and properly apply the modern educational technology in their pedagogy so as to cultivate the innovative consciousness and creativity of school students. However, the teaching effect of modern educational technology has been far from satisfaction for a long time because of the single teaching method, low studying interest and negative attitude to this course. As a result, students not only can not master the essential application ability, even but also not understand modern education technology correctly. Various problems existing in the public discipline of modern education technology precipitated us to reform it in teaching. Diversified teaching method is carried out to meet this requirement in the hope of improvement of teaching effect and development of normal students’ educational technology abilities.The main contents of the paper are as follows:(1) Firstly, problems existing in the teaching of modern educational technology and the understanding erroneous zone of students for this course were analyzed by interviewing senior students and teachers bearing the course. Secondly, the state of modern educational technology research was clarified through references analysis, together with summarization of methods solving the problems of modern educational technology teaching. Lastly, the practice of diversified teaching method research was selected linking to our own university reality.(2) The definition of public modern education technology and diversified teaching method were given. Furthermore, the connotation and theoretical basis were explained. The course contents were reanalyzed and selected, which was divided into nine modules, and designed in teaching process using diversified teaching method.(3) Through teaching practice in the first semester of2011-2012school year, diversified teaching method was demonstrated good efficiency in optimizing teaching result, it not only can obviously increase students’ grades, but also can enhance students’ awareness and ability of self-directed learning and cooperative learning, improvement of students’ learning attitude and interest, and improving the teaching quality of modern educational technology, that improve the normal students’ educational technology ability.The author hopes this research can have some role in promoting the teaching of modern educational technology, and effectively improve the abilities of educational technology of our own normal students. The author also believes that there will be more peers to participate in this similar research.
