The reformation of master's educational system is a focal, as well as an argumentative issue. In the recent years, some universities have taken it into practices through a series of measures which is feathered for the two years master educational system. But some problems emerged in the process of reformation have urged some universities to adjust the master educational system to the former status, which further deepened the debate that whether should the master educational system be reformed and how to reform it. The author's opinion is that the reformation is necessary but it is still in a process of exploration.This paper firstly reviewed the developing history of China's master educational system and then analyzed the necessity, summarized the general situation and the main characteristics of reformation. This paper also gave a through analyze on the reason of the phenomenon that few universities adjust the master educational system to the former status. For a case study, this paper focused on the Harbin Institute of Technology, which is very typical and practicable in the reformation and introduced the policies and effects which had taken.On the bases, this paper released its opinions on the reformation of master educational system and try to gave some suggestions on how to carry out the accessorial reformations as well as the problems need to be resolved in the cultivating mode reformation.
