Medical students, a special group among the ordinary college students who will be the future angels in white and the guardians of human life and health, shoulder a special responsibility for the development and progress of the society, and the health and happiness of the people. They, who will have the special sacred mission of healing the wounded and rescuing the dying, must not only possess profound knowledge and superb medical skills, but also high medical ethics, and the sense of responsibility is just the strong support for the cultivation of the medical ethics. The choice of medicine means the dedication and responsibility, so from the very moment when they step into the field, medical students should firmly foster and develop a high sense of responsibility so as to lay a solid moral foundation for the future career in medicine. It can be safely said that the strengthening of the training of the sense of responsibility in the medical students is necessary not only for the development of a medical career and the progress of mankind but also for maturity and perfection of the medical students themselves. The subjects of medical research and service are humans, and the sense of responsibility of the medical students, as the future of medical workers, is concerned with the life and health of the people. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the sense of responsibility of the medical students. At present, the overall sense of the responsibility of medical students is still good, and the mainstream is positive. However, in the social transition of China today and under the influence of different values and other negative factors, many problems arise with the sense of the responsibility in the medical students, which are profoundly manifested in self-centeredness, negligence of social responsibility, selfishness, lack of love, moral decline and indifference to the patients. All these cause great concern about the angels in white on whom life and health will depend. For this reason, the sampled survey questionnaire and outlines of interview about the sense of responsibility in the medical students are designed on the basis of the large data of the literature, and the questionnaire surveys are conducted in the 678 students at the medical department and the department of nursing at Taishan Medical College, and survey interviews with some teachers are also conducted about the sense of responsibility in the medical students. Through the surveys and interviews, the current problems are found, the reasons are analyzed and specific measures are proposed so as to further promote the healthy growth of medical students and the cause of China's medical and health development. The article is divided into the four following chapters:The first chapter is about the sense of responsibility that medical students should have. In terms of responsibility, sense of responsibility and sense of responsibility in the medical students, the basic aspects of responsibility for the country and the society, the patients and oneself are summarized. The second chapter is about the discussion of the historical significance of strengthening the cultivation of the sense of responsibility in medical students, including the requirements for building a harmonious society, for developing the cause of the medicine and for improving the overall quality of medical students. The third chapter is about the status quo and the problems about the sense of responsibility of medical students. Through investigation and statistical data, the analysis of the overall sense of responsibility in the current medical students is made and it shows that most of them love medicine for the country, are humanitarian to the patients and a positive attitude toward himself; The major problems are found out, such as the tendency of utilitarianism, of loss of professional ethics, of selfishness of social responsibility, of indifference to patients and of negligence of self-responsibility. The reasons for them are explored, such as negative environmental factors, imbalance between sciences and humanities in school education, errors of the orientation in the family education and misconceptions of the students themselves. In the fourth chapter, the measures for strengthening the cultivation of the sense of the responsibility in the medical students are proposed at the school education, mainly including the establishment of the right educational concepts, formation of the framework of the scientific educational contents and widening of the effective educational ways and construction of the high qualified teaching staff.
