The sense of responsibility plays an important role in individual life. It is the cognitive,emotional and behavioral tendency of responsibility that individuals take in different socialrelation. The performance of sense of responsibility includes trying to complete one’s own work,being guilty for not finishing one’s own work, self-accusing and being positive to make up. Thein-depth study on responsibility is theoretically and practical significance. The purpose of thisresearch is to compile evaluation questionnaire to test the sense of responsibility.On the basis of reviewing literature, interviewing pupil and their parents and in-serviceElementary teachers, the author preliminary develop the responsibility questionnaire items ofpupils. According to the exploratory factors analysis of836elementary school students from thequestionnaire data, the author compiled the formal responsibility questionnaire. The authorinvestigate2037pupil by formal questionnaire and did the confirmatory factor analysis of theirsense of responsibility conceptualization model and socio-demography. According to thereliability and validity test of different indicators by the Pupils’ Sense of ResponsibilityQuestionnaire, the result shows that:The sense of responsibility of pupils consists of general responsibility and specialresponsibility. The general sense of responsibly includes two dimensions: general obligation ofresponsibility and general negligence responsibility. The sense of general responsibility includessix specific aspects: the sense of school work’s responsibility, family responsibility, collectiveresponsibility, social responsibility, self-responsibility and other people’s responsibility.The reliability indexes of self-compiled Pupils’ Sense of Responsibility Questionnaire ispositive in split-half reliability, coefficient of internal consistency, test-retest reliability, contentvalidity, construct validity criterion validity. Therefore, this questionnaire is the suitableinstrument that can be use to text the sense of responsibility of pupils.The overall level of sense of responsibility of pupils is high. The result shows that the senseof responsibility of girls’ in is higher than the boys’ in every dimension. There are significantdifferences among student in different grades in every dimension. The only-child group andnon-only-child group show significant differences in the sense of general responsibility,self-responsibility, collective responsibility, family responsibility, and other people’sresponsibility.
