Population, natural resources, resources of energy, food and the environment are the main concerns at present, among which population is the essential one[1]. As one of the important social information, population data has been get by the administrative units. But this statistic method has shown its limits both theoretically and practically. So more precise, more flexible and more effective methods are in urgent need for the sustainable development of the society. Spatial distribution of statistical population is one of the solutions to the above-mentioned problems. It is a new research direction of population geography and it has broken the demographic data stemming from the long-time boundary line of the administrative division. It offers a new way of thinking and a new method to count demographic data in the non-administrative divisions. So it is very significant to study spatial distribution of statistical population.Spatial distribution of statistical population has been studied for many years. Based on the previous studies, the author tries to make spatial distribution of statistical population in two ways. In areas with proper conditions, population districts can be constructured with Voronoi's method and maximum value; in areas without proper conditions, population can be distributed to every vectored grid and can be spatialized on the basis of the 5th national population census data of the year of 2000, with the analysis on the relation between population and land use, and the adjustment of population coefficient of different administrative units. In this paper VC++6.0 and shapelib developing bag are used in the first part; in the second part, ArcGIS and ArcView are used together with CSharp 2005 and ArcGIS9.1 to do programminging.
