Affinity reflects the degree of cohesion of members in a group who attract each other and think highly of each other's membership. It is the organic reformation and sublimation of the group willingness and behavioral extension. The sense of affinity is an important symbol of whether the group is highly competitive, and it plays critical roles in the existence and development of the group. Since 1990s, our national reformation of higher education system has reached a new phase, and one noticeable characteristic is the recombination and merging of universities in different ways. Coming from different universities with independent organizations and with differences in development, the newly merged university faces various conflicts. As the major component of universities, the affinity of faculties directly influences the construction of newly-merged university and furthermore, it will affect the stability of the faculty. So, it plays an important part in the "1+1>2" project among newly-merged universities. Therefore, the stimulation of the faculty's affinity is going to help newly-merged universities in unearthing human resources, excite the activity, and promote the virtual coalition among universities.Based on the background of merging universities, and taking Chongqing Normal University as case sample, this article researches on the faculty's affinity in newly-merged universities (annexation between the strong and the weak). It analyzes the influential factors in such merging: leadership and management, personal b(?), university image, personality and emotions, regulations and rules, etc. And on such grounds, this article put forward 7 strategies aiming at stimulating the faculty's affinity: scientific system of goals after coalition, enhancement of the influence of leadership after coalition, recombination of human resources standardization of the restraining force after coalition, development of the democracy after coalition, strengthen the distribution system after coalition, integration of campus cultures after coalition. These strategies are just for reference for future coalitions.
