In accordance with the New Curriculum Criteria issued by the Ministry of Education, a new Synthetically Practical Course in Senior Chinese Teaching has been established. This paper presents an account of the current practice of the course in senior Chinese teaching. On the basis of considerable probes as well as the author's teaching practice, the author thinks thoroughly about the course and, accordingly, conducts a research into the theoretical basis and practical value of the course and into the strategies of developing students' comprehensively practical abilities and Chinese accomplishment.
