With the development of China reform and opening, perfection of marketing economy system, and more and more fierce talent competitions, the society brings higher request on students' capability and quality in Secondary Vocational Schools, among which English language commands are one of the important aspects. Kunshan is an intensively invested area by foreign investors, and every walks of life needs "Blue Collar" talents with a certain English capability. Secondary Vocational Schools are home to those "Blue Collar" talents, and this requests English education in those schools to be capability-based and to center around students' general English application capability.However, students from Kunshan Secondary Vocational Schools are not so clear about the request and motivation on English learning. Not so many good suggestions and measures on how to stimulate those students' motivation from teaching's point of view are mentioned in existing theses on learning motivation. It is getting more and more imperative to stimulate English learning motivation and improve teaching module and quality in Kunshan Secondary Vocational School.This thesis includes 4 chapters:Chapter 1 emphasizes on the importance and necessity of this research theme by describing its background. It also expounds some conceptions and theories related to motivation and its classificationChapter 2 summarizes some theories and research on English learning motivation in domestic and foreign research areas.Chapter 3 introduces a case study in Kunshan No.2 Vocational School. First, an investigation and analysis on English learning motivation is held in Kunshan No.2 Vocational School in form of questionnaire. According to the questionnaire' statistics, some specific approaches and strategies on how to stimulate students' English learning motivation are put forward and carried out. That means we must build an atmosphere of cultivating motivation; improve teaching module and strategies to stimulate motivation; maintain motivation by proper assessment. Then it makes a contrastive analysis.Chapter 4 presents some suggestions on how to put these approaches and strategies into practice in entire vocational education. It also points out the reflections of the paper.
