Because of massive university enrollment in recent years, quick development of high school education and degree requirements of the society, the secondary vocational school students is increasingly reduced, at the same time, the quality of students is also poor. In this situation, there are many difficulties for secondary vocational school teachers in teaching, especially English teaching in secondary vocational schools. On the one hand, students are not interested in learning English, on the other hand, teaching methodology is poor and the evaluation method is out of time. In order to change the English teaching in secondary vocational school, teachers should inspire the students’ English learning motivation in the teaching activities. This research will analyze the types of English learning motivation of secondary vocational school students and find the method to stimulate the motivation.This research mainly adopts questionnaire method, the data was analyzed by using t test and ANOVA of SPSS social statistics software. In the study, the author selected Fujian Yongan vocational school as the research object.Investigation on internal interest, achievement motivation and learning motivation, going abroad, social responsibility, personal development influence the effect of English learning in secondary vocational schools. The research found that: 1. the main learning motivation of secondary vocational school students is individual development motivation, that is, most students learn English for personal development in the future. 2.students of different majors have different English learning motivation. The motivation value of the four majors, animal husbandry and veterinary, e-commerce, computer maintenance, and tourism are higher than environment art design and accounting. And the average value of the students, majoring in environment art design and accounting is also higher than that of other majors. 3. girls motivation values are higher than that of boys in the following five types of motivation: internal interest, personal development, responsibility motivation, information media and going abroad motivation. 4. the whole motivation value of excellent students are lower than other students. But the overall motivation value of secondary are higher than the inferior students. According to the survey results, this research puts forward the following to stimulate English learning motivation of secondary vocational school students: 1. to strengthen practical English teaching; 2. to create a harmonious and pleasant teaching atmosphere; 3.to cultivate the students` English learning motivation; 4, to mobilize the interest and confidence in English learning of secondary vocational school students.5.and to arouse the students’ psychological mechanism of learning English in the teaching activities and cultivate the students’ English learning motivation.
