In modern times, science and technology going ahead by leaps and bounds. So, people, who only get their knowledge and education in school and university, don't suit the needs of current society. At present, the reform in education requires a change of education process from demonstrating a result to getting knowledge. Education should view from the angle of development of the initial capability of scientific research and attitude. It shouldn't focus on the learning of some certain knowledge. Experiment is the main channel of getting information as well as developing creative mind and capability. This thesis is about the exploration of the teaching of the exploratory experiment on physics in secondary school both on theory and practice (shorted for exploratory experiment). Thus, it can make students explore new knowledge on their own initiative, develop their capability of learning by themselves. As a result, they could suit the needs of modern society.According to the basic viewpoints of the form and development of the teaching idea of exploratory experiment as well as it's function, this thesis demonstrates the exploratory experiment. Meanwhile, not only does it compare the exploratory experiment with traditional experiment, but demonstrates the theoretic basis of the exploratory experiment. At the same time, it discusses the teaching aims the exploratory experiment, including the capability of thinking observing and so on.On this basis, this thesis makes designs for the teaching of exploratory experiment. The content includes design principle and teaching principle. Furthermore, this thesis, on the base of the rules of the students' cognition, on one hand, put forward the a new method—exploratory experiment, that is "thinking- exploring " method, including specific measures. At last, this thesis draws a conclusion combining teaching practice.
