This article demonstrates that the overall level of the college basketball is not high enough because most of the colleges admit only normal new student, and the strength of college teams with policy on sports special enrollment is far more higher from the teams without it because of the difference of the policy on sports special enrollment. The average height and weight of the athletes is notably different between different teams. The basketball competition rules are unreasonable, and the conflict between study and training affects the improvement of the athletics level. Most of the coachs are qualified, but on-the-job training has not been paid enough attention to, the complete training system has not been set up. Teams of Fujian Overseas Chinese University and Xiamen University represent the highest level of Fujian college basketball. This article suggests to improve the policy of admitting new students to improve the quality of the athletes; improve the system of league matches, and increase the quantity and quality of the competitions; buffer the conflicts between study and training, and improve both the athletics level and professional quality of athletes; make clear the responsibilities of coachs, and set up a complete system; utilize the special social effects of high colleges, ally with enterprises or supported by enterprises to solidate the material basis for the further development of the basketball team.
