A new elementary education reform curriculum which has been carrying out at present by our country is a large extent of education innovation; it has been a new type of curriculum reform which was carried out since we stepped into the new century. The curriculum reform bears the great trust of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and shoulders the glorious missions to accelerate each student's comprehensive development; it also has important meanings to accelerate social improvement and individual development. During the process of developing of the new curriculum reform, the importance of teaching method has been appeared gradually, and if without it ,the development of new curriculum will be unimaginable, however, independent learning, cooperative learning and explorative learning are just the nascent learning style which pursued by new curriculum reform. Cooperative learning as a teaching theory and strategic system including both creativity and substantial results are receiving more and more extensive attention generally in recent years.This research makes the new curriculum reform as the background, and chooses the students of the first grade in senior high school as the target. The teaching materials are the geography of senior high school required1 and required2 from the People's Education Press, and the author chooses two classes form his own school, one class as experiment group, and another class as control group. The experiment group's geography's teaching adopts cooperative learning, while control group adopts traditional teaching method. After or about one year's experiments, we can make the conclusion as follows: Students of experiment group are superior to students of control group in motivation of learning and learning methods of geography, they have more eagerness to learn more knowledge in class, and their scores are better than another group. Specifically speaking, the research are divided into six parts, the first part contains asking questions, the meanings and methods of research, and summarizing documents; the second part describes the theoretical basis of cooperative learning; the third part introduces the basic characteristic of cooperative learning, the fourth part tells about some ways of cooperative learning, and the fifth part introduces the experimental research, and the last part is conclusions and suggestions.
