Impression management (IM) means that during the interpersonal relationships, individuals choose certain language and non-verbal conduct to achieve effective control of their own impression in others' eyes. College graduate's job interview IM means that under the job interview scenario, to achieve their goals, college graduates carry out IM by making proactive use of various IM strategies, so as to leave a positive impression of recruiters and recruitment who make the hiring decision-making process. In the community with increasingly serious employment situation, gradually fierce employment competition, increasing employment pressure of college graduates today, the research and study of college graduates job interview IM theory, status quo and improvement of the status quo can expand and enrich social psychology in the social awareness of the IM theory, provide a theoretical basis and practical information for college graduates in-depth understanding of job interview IM theory, effectively improve the IM, help them stand out in the job interview, enhance their employability and competitiveness. The study of the theory of IM strategy, the theory of the IM process, the theory of IM style and the theory of IM effects indicates that college graduates should not only attach great importance to IM, but also carry out IM strategies effectively in the job interview so as to make a better impression of their recruiters, and obtain a better evaluation from the recruiters. From the interviews and the observed job interview practice we can find that the status quo of the current college graduates job interview IM is not optimistic: Despite of the strong IM motive, the IM skills are low, the IM effectiveness are poor, resulting in an interview loss. The main reasons are: the lack of University IM education, the lack of students' IM expertise and the lack of practical training. To change this status quo, improve college graduates job interview IM capacity and to strengthen their employability and competitiveness, the following measures should be taken: to enhance job interview IM awareness, to conduct job interview IM education; to use job interview IM strategies, specificly include packaging strategy, marketing or publicity strategy and display strategy to curry favor with the recruitment strategy and preservation of face-saving strategy and verbal , non-verbal language strategy and tactics.
