The Present Situation And Development Research For Physical Education And Health Course Of Secondary Vocational Schools In Jiangsu Province

With the development of social market economy, secondary vocational schools become an important position of pushing forward the quality education all round, improving the quality of the whole people and enhancing the comprehensive national strength and international competitiveness. Physical education and health course is a basis course of the vocational education. It will directly affect the healthy state and the quality of the laborer, having an influence on the quality of the talents, the benefit and the rate of economic development thereby.With the deepening of the course reform, it is difficult for teaching target, content, methodology and appraising of physical education and health course to adapt to the need of vocational education teaching in secondary vocational schools. It is imperative to establish a curriculum system with the vocational education characteristics.This thesis makes a systematic study of physical education and health course of Jiangsu provincial secondary vocational schools in the early period of this century. Taking physical education and health courses of thirty-one secondary vocational schools in Jiangsu province as an object of study, adopting some researching methods such as literature information, questionnaire investigation, field survey and symbolic statistics, this thesis aims to make an investigation, study and analysis of sports teachers'present situation, extracurricular sports activities, sports teaching material, teaching conditions and the extent to the school leaders'attention to the course.This study puts particular emphasis on the study of sports course with vocational education characteristics, with a view to realistic condition and present situation in secondary vocational schools. The practice situation at present of physical education and health course has obtained complete survey and analysis since the promulgation of Secondary Vocational Schools Physical Education and Health Teaching Instructions in 2000. We have arrived at some conclusions are as follows:1. Jiangsu provincial secondary vocational schools have the fairly good teaching teams. But the majority of teachers haven't reached a certain high scientific research level and they are lacking of course training, which have a negative effect on the course's research, development and practice.2. Jiangsu provincial secondary vocational schools are mingling with hope and fear in half.3. The carrying-out situation of extracurricular sports activities in Jiangsu provincial secondary vocational schools is not very good.4. Sports teaching material is still one of the weakest link in sports discipline.5. Although teaching conditions in secondary vocational schools have improved greatly, contrasting with the increasing students, it remains to be improved further.6. Significant differences exist among the extent to the leaders from different schools attach the importance to the physical education work.On the basis of this study, this paper puts forward some suggestions as follows:1. Build up the course system with vocational education characteristics.2. Improve the teaching environment and push forward the course building.3. Combine the characteristics of their own; different schools perform the sunlight physical education.4. Change the teachers'concept and strengthen the teacher training.
