Key high school and ordinary high school are the basic pattern of the present high school education in our country. Although these two forms of education have the same raising objective as well as fostering the same courses, the allocation of teachers, students, as well as various aspects of the allocation of educational resources vary. Does this affect the students'individual planning? Are there any differences in the individual planning between the key high school students and the ordinary high school students? Do different personality characteristics have any influence on the individual planning? Based on questionnaires future orientation of Chinese revised version and questionnaires of the five personality factors concise version (NEO-FFI), and according to a survey of more than 550 students in both key and ordinary high schools, this study makes an analysis of the students'school type, gender and grade, finding that:1, Senior three students focus more on the exploration of the area of future education than senior one students, while there are no significant differences between the two in exploring as well as investing in the field of future career.2, Key high schools focus significantly more on the investment in the area of future education than ordinary high schools, and there is significant interaction between schools of different types and different grades; while no difference is shown between school types in exploring the field of future education as well as in exploring and investing in the field of future career, but the investment of key high schools on both areas are higher then regular schools.3, Girls focus evidently more on the exploration as well as the devotion of the area of future education than boys; while there is no distinct difference between them in exploring and investing in the field of future career, but in regards to the career area, girls focus more on exploration while boys focus more on investment.4, All the high school students focus more on the exploration of future education than future career; and more on the devotion of the former than on the latter.5, In the field of future education exploration and investment, the open features of character and the sense of responsibility can remarkably predict the level of individual exploration and devotion of education; in the field of future career exploration, the neuroticism, extroversion, openness and conscientiousness of character can remarkably predict the level of individual exploration of future career, and among these, openness and conscientiousness have more influence on students'career exploration; while agreeableness has inconspicuous influence on the students'future achievement areas(education exploration, investment in education, career exploration, vocational inputs).The results of this study provide a data of basic facts on the individual planning diversity of key high school and regular high school students. First of all, it will enrich psychology knowledge accumulation on high school students'individual planning and development characteristics; secondly, they provide theoretical guidance for schools, families and society to conduct appropriate career guidance (future education counselling, career counselling) according to different school patterns and student characteristics; thirdly, since high school students are at the key stage of personality development and cultivation, cultivating students' healthy personality and fostering creative talent are supposed to be a common concern of the many present researchers. This study will provide a theoretical basis for schools to train healthy personalities.
