As the unique companion to Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the match of Olympic sailing held in Qingdao will act a significant and profound role in Qingdao's development, especially in building awell-off society in all-round way and leading to basically accomplish the modernization.Qingdao's sports industry has developed fast in recent years, however, there are still big differences between China and those sports industry developed countries, especially the proportion of sports industry consumption is still limited in GDP. On the other hand, with the improvement of people's income level and comprehensive quality and the enlargement and diversification of sports and entertainment market, there is much room for improvement for sports industry consumption, which creates a good chance for expedited development of Qingdao's sports industry and its entry into global market. In order to get a better realization of the present status and find the short comings of it at the present stage. Based on this investigation, put forward the future plan on how to push forward the development the sports industry in Qingdao.Based on present situation of Qingdao's sports industry, the thesis analyses opportunities and challenges for and problems in the industry and discusses how to further develop the industry. Secondly, this chapter states the primary conception and the classification of industry and sports industry. It analyses the associated theories of the development of the industry, thus giving theoretical basis for the research., and the author shows a summarization of successful experience of sports industry development in foreign countries in this chapter to pave the way for bringing forward solutions to the problems in the development of China's sports industry. Then, Based on the present status of Qingdao's sports industry, this chapter carries out detailed analysis of problems existing in Qingdao's sports industry from industry market, industry structure andindustry policy, which provides the theory evidence for establishing countermeasures on sports industry development. At last, Based on problems in Qingdao's sports industry, the chapter brings up solutions of speeding up development of Qingdao's sports industry from cultivating sports market, adjusting industrial structure, establishing favorable policies and deepening sports system reformation.
