The study of job stress, leisure needs and leisure constraints of university teachers and the relationship between each other is carried out by questionnaire investigation. This study will help to further understand the problems of job stress in universities, contribute to teacher management and policy-making in some way, and provide a theoretical reference for the further study, so as to spur the teachers by effective stress management and improve their passions in work. This thesis begins with a comprehensive looking back of the references about the study of teachers' job stress, leisure needs and leisure constraints. Based on the self-organized job stress questionnaire of university teachers and the already-existed questionnaire about leisure needs and leisure constraints, the sample questionnaire is carried out in mid-career teachers of seven different universities. 314 questionnaires are collected, of which 288 questionnaires are valid. From the investigation results analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-examination, single-factor variance analysis as well as the typical relevance and many other statistic methods, we draw the following conclusions:(1)On the whole, the job stress of university teachers is above the average level, university teachers are inclined to leisure liking or participation, and the factors that influence leisure constraints are minor. In the job stress investigation, "System equality" wins the highest points, whereas "job value" the opposite. In the leisure needs investigation, "Stress relief dimension wins the highest marks. In the leisure constraints investigation, "time obstacle" dimension has the greatest influence on leisure liking or participation.(2)There exist conspicuous differences of part of demography variable in the dimensions of job stress, Leisure needs and leisure constraints, such as different ages, educational attainment, work seniority, school types, positional titles, yearly input for scientific research, residential population, housing and children conditions.(3) The typical relevant analysis results show that job stress, leisure needs and leisure constraints are, to some extent, associated with each other. Leisure needs affect job stress, accounting for 4.5percent of its factors; leisure constraints affect job stress, making up 11.7 percent of it's factors; leisure constraints also affects leisure needs, accounting for 7.9 percent of it's factors.
