The two important facets of English classes are the teacher and students, or rather, how to teach and how to learn. Therefore, it is important to investigate the ways how students learn, and it is more important to know what affects learners' input. The teacher is the one who carries out teaching activities, and he is sure to affect students' learning efficiency with his behaviors. Of course, we cannot measure the teacher's efficiency by the amount of the knowledge he imparts in the class. However, we can measure it by the amount of the knowledge the students receive.Through the investigation of the teacher's teaching activities, we can easily find that the effective teacher is the one who can treat teaching in a flexible way. His basic teaching behaviour, technical behaviour and organizing behaviour are correlated to his teaching efficiency, affecting students' learning efficiency and the quality of English teaching. Both researchers and teachers have paid close attention to teaching efficiency. As is known to us, the low level of English teaching efficiency is blocking the development of English education in middle schools almost all over China. To change the terrible situation, we have to improve the teacher's basic teaching behaviour, technical behaviour and organizing behaviour to upgrade the quality of English teaching.
