Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the physical fitness and bone health in the elderly of Henan Province by National Physique monitoring vehicles .We wanted to know which exercises do Henan elderly day-to-day to do .we also wanted to investigate the effects of physical exercises to Fitness and bone health, as well as their physiological mechanism. Then we can guide elderly how to keep fit and improve their quality of life. Methods: 417 male elderly subjects who had lived in Henan participated in the study. Physical Fitness indicators include three aspects, they are body shape, physical function and physical fitness .Then we took calcaneous bone strength as bone health indicator. At the same time through questionnaire, we knew something about their Fitness. Then the subjects were divided into 2 teams. One is that people always do exercises, the other do not do exercises frequently. Compare these indicators on different age and sex teams. We wanted to research the differences during these indicators of every team. Results: (1)Through this research we know elderly who take part in exercises always are more weight than the others, and they also have greater muscle weight. (2)At the physical function aspect, elderly who often do exercises have greater FVC, the ratio indicated significantly difference between the different teams(P<0.05). (3)At the physical fitness aspect, elderly did exercises frequently had better response capability, balance ability and muscle strength, the ratio indicated significantly difference between the different teams(P<0.05). (4)Exercise group elderly had greater calcareous bone strength, it indicated significantly difference(P<0.05).Another weight had significant correlation with calcaneus bone strength. (5)Physical exercise made exercise group of elderly women of menopausal age obviously later than others, it had statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion: Elder people who often do exercises were healthier than others, it can slow muscle atrophy, and protect the elderly self-care ability. Physical exercise can improve physiological function in the elderly, make heart contractions more effective, and improve respiratory capacity and FVC, so that the tissue function have been strengthened capacity for blood and oxygen. Physical exercise can improve elderly physical fitness include balance and response capability, therefore it ensue the emergency response in the elderly and reduce the risk of elderly falls. The study also found that bad living habits can affect bone health in the elderly. Elderly female actively carry out physical exercise get later menopause, it maintenances the bone mass of the old women and reduce the incidence of osteoporosis.
