| The National South-west Associated University is full of special significance. It is combined with Reking University ,Tsinghua University and Nankai University that were moved to Kun ming,Yun nan province during the Sino—Japanese War.Althouth this university and its predecessor,the provisional University in Chang sha exist only nine years,from August 1937 to July 1946,It is a bright pearl in the Chinese high education history and wins a high reputation both at home and abroad.It preserved some integrited education methods,gained fruitful achievements and cultivated some well—known domestic and foreign scientists and outstanding architects.It is considered as the most successful university by the acadamic community during the Sino—Japanese War.World renowned scientist Joseph Needham said this university is as good as Oxford,Cambridge and Harvard.Why it is so successful? I think that one essential factor is its advanced teaching and management system.This paper attempts to use the basic theory of the education and management,the historical background of the Sino—Japanese War period and the original teaching and management system of the three universities to explore and analyse the formation and operation of this university's teaching and management system,and also its characteristics and impact .It studies this university's historical achievements and practical significance from all—round and afferent perspectives.This article focuses on the establishment,the teaching and management system of this university and the operation and characteristics of its teaching and management system.In this paper ,the significance lies in : by exploring the the teaching and management system of this university to analyse the general management of today's colleges anduniversities .It also tries to use some teaching and management experience of the Southwest Associatied University and provides certain information to those universities carrying on the teaching reforms.
